THE
ELECTRODES
Disconnect the cables, then unscrew the electrodes from the chambers and immerse them for 30
minutes in a 50% vinegar/50% water solution. Brush down gently with a toothbrush in order not to
scratch the electrode coating. Never use a metal brush, as this would seriously damage the electrodes,
rendering them unusable. If the stains will not readily disappear, immerse the electrodes in the
solution for another 30 minutes.
When replacing electrodes, ensure they are in the correct position in their respective chambers, also
that the connections of cables to electrodes are correct. (Blue: Titanium/oxy – Red: Copper/ion).
Average cleansing frequency will depend on the water quality, also on the amount of flocculant used.
Inspect the electrodes visually each month and clean them whenever any dirt is apparent.

COSTUMS
In the case of our technology, excess copper can only be ascribed to faulty installation, programming
or controls. If we discover blue or blue-to-green stains at joins between tiles or on the liner, it is
possible there is excessive copper in the water, or that an increase in pH has occurred, which has not
been checked
Solution:
1.- The first thing we need to do is to measure the copper in the water, several times and at several
locations. If we find there is any copper, we need to remedy this problem, which may be attributable to:
- Faulty installation: Cables are transposed ( OXY - ION )
- Faulty programming: too many minutes per day.
2.- Deprogram the copper function
3.- Reduce the copper content in the pool. This can be done in two ways:
Replace all or part of the water in the pool, carry out cleansing several times, etc. Check and
measure daily. The copper will gradually disappear.
Empty the pool and wash the tiles with acid.
Use a metal flocculant or special copper-capturing agent
A level of copper up to 2 ppm is not harmful to the health, but may cause staining.

WITH
ALGAES
This is due to inadequate disinfection, and can come about from various causes. For this reason, we need
to check whether the system is functioning correctly: electrodes, voltage, etc.
If the system is functioning correctly, it could be brought about through one of the following causes:
Inadequate treatment time for the water temperature used. Hours of operation need to be
continuous.
Low alkalinity; the correct parameters are between 80 and 175 mg/l.
Poor circulation by the pump and ‘dead’ areas
Lack of copper
Water is too old or is out-of-balance
Algae in the water are resistant to copper. In this event, it is necessary to get rid of them using
a polymer algicide. In Spain we recommend: (Algicide for pools without chlorine/ QP Products)
Once the source of the problem has been identified, carry out shock treatment with chlorine, and correct.
