8 – Troubleshooting and System Tests
Power ON LED
blinks or goes out
while cutting.
A power component is
shorted.
• Faulty fan.
• Perform
• Faulty power board
or IGBT.
• Faulty DSP board.
The arc does not
transfer to the
workpiece.
Poor continuity exists
between the work lead and
the workpiece.
• The workpiece is
dirty.
• The ground clamp is
damaged.
• The pierce height
distance is too large.
• Clean the area where the ground
clamp contacts the workpiece to
allow a good metal-to-metal
connection.
• Inspect the ground clamp for damage,
and repair as necessary.
• The pierce height distance may be too
large. Move the torch closer to the
workpiece and fire the torch again.
Gas flows from
the torch at
power-up when
neither the torch
trigger nor a
remote start is
activated.
The electronic regulator,
power board, or control
board is faulty.
• Faulty electronic
regulator.
• Faulty power board.
• Faulty DSP board.
The incoming gas pressure is
too high.
• The gas pressure
from the compressor
or cylinder may be
too high.
• Check the gas supply to make sure
that it does not exceed 9.3 bar
(135 psi). If necessary, reduce the
pressure.
