A typical serial number has the following code:

1 = Type of engine: VK = 1100
2 = Country of manufacture (U = manufactured in
the United Kingdom)
3 = Serial number
4 = Year of manufacture. The letter indicates the
year of manufacture. The letters I, O, Q, R, and Z
are not used.
If parts or service are required for your engine,
the complete engine number must be given to your
dealer.
