Lift trucks manufactured after November, 2014 may be
equipped with optional automatic front lights which activate
when the key or keyless switch is turned on. They will
deactivate when the key or keyless switch is turned off.
Lift trucks manufactured after November, 2014 may be
equipped with a rear drive light. It is activated when the
reverse direction is selected by the MONOTROL® pedal or
direction control switch.
There are no switches on the dash panel if lift truck is
equipped with one or both of these options. Check the
operation of the front lights by turning the key or keyless
switch to the
ON
position to ensure lights come on. Check
the operation of the rear drive light by selecting reverse
using the MONOTROL® pedal or direction control switch.

Check the strobe light by turning the key or keyless
switch to the
ON
position and check the operation of the
light. The strobe light can also be operated with a rocker
switch.

Check the backup alarm on lift trucks equipped with a
direction control switch by sitting in the seat and turning the
key or keyless switch to the
ON
position. Pushing down on
the direction control switch to put it in reverse will sound the
alarm.

Check the backup alarm on lift trucks equipped with a
MONOTROL® pedal by sitting in the seat, turning the key
or keyless switch to the
ON
position, and pressing the
reverse arrow on the MONOTROL® pedal.

Check the seat switch. Turn the key or keyless switch to
the
OFF
position and leave the seat. Do not apply the park-
ing brake. If the seat switch is working correctly, an alarm
will sound when the operator leaves the seat after turning
the lift truck
OFF
, but does not apply the parking brake. If
lift truck is equipped with the Seat Activated parking brake
option, the parking brake will be automatically applied when
the operator leaves the seat after turning the lift truck
OFF
.
The parking brake will release when the operator returns to
the seat and the accelerator or MONOTROL® pedal is
applied.
The display panel, located in the upper right corner of the
operator's compartment (see
), is
also energized when the key or keyless switch is turned to
the
ON
position. The display is essential to safe and pro-
ductive operation of the lift truck. Systems such as the bat-
tery condition and fault codes are monitored by the
controller and are expressed by the display. A malfunction-
ing display unit may not alert an operator to a condition in
