Tilt Adjust Feature
The column tilt angle should be locked in position when-
ever the steering column tilt position lever is released. Use
multipurpose grease as shown in the
Maintenance Sched-
ule
and lubricate the lever and pivots as needed.
NOTE:
DO NOT use multipurpose grease to lubricate the
sliding surfaces of the telescopic column.
Tilt Memory Feature
After the tilt memory lever is released, tilt the column down
until the column locks into position. The column should
remain locked in place and
NOT
move. Use multipurpose
grease as shown in the
Maintenance Schedule
and lubri-
cate the lever and pivots as needed.
Telescopic Feature
When the telescopic column locking handle is tightened to
6 N•m (53 lbf in), the steering wheel should remain locked
