3) Mud
If mud content is high, it can not be removed by mechanical cleaning. Remove the scale by
mechanical cleaning mentioned above.
(3) Connect piping for cleaning
Drain out water from the tube side and water boxes through the drain ports, Fig. 22 shows the
connection method for acid cleaning of the absorber and condenser system.
(4) Preparation of chemical and charging of chemical
After preparing at a prescribed concentration in a container, charge the chemical from the drain
port and make it circulate by circulation pump. The circulation time depends on the amount of
removal of the scale.
(5) Drain off the chemical with cleaning water containing neutralizer.
(6) Unless complete cleaning with fresh water is done, the chemical (acid) may remain inside to
corrode inner walls of the tubes and water boxes resulting in shortening the machine life.
Therefore, keep cleaning as long as possible until the drained water is free from acid reaction.
Usually, it is 1 to 2 hours.
