Operator lever snapping out of
gear or not staying in gear
Leve not all the way forward
when the rack comes under full
load
Push the lever quicker and
more forcefully into the forward
position. A hard stop should be
felt at the end of the stroke
when engaging the handle.
Stop bolt not adjusted correctly
Take to a qualified repair
centre. Replace or repair faulty
components as necessary
Ram overloaded at lower part
of face
Check rack gear for
straightness
Rack slamming back too fast
Wedge end of machine too
high
Must be almost level with ram
end or just slightly higher
Springs not operating correctly
Fix or replace as needed
Machine does not seem to
have full splitting power
Belt(s) may be loose and
slipping
Adjust or replace the belt(s) as
necessary
Operator lever not engaging
rack with pinion gear
Debris trapped underneath the
rack
Clear debris from under the
rack
Accumulated dirt and debris on
rubber bumpers
Clean accumulated dirt and
debris from frame where
carriage assembly rests
against rubber bumpers
Rack not disengaging from
pinion when handle is released
Belts overtight
Belts must be loosened to
allow for slipping while
disengaging
