NOTE
Never let the engine run without an air filter being installed.
A dirty air filter element will affect the engine performance, increase fuel consumption
and make the machine difficult to start.
If you notice a loss of power, check the air filter.
If the air filter is damaged, you MUST replace it.
You MUST make sure the housing is free of dirt and debris.
DO NOT allow any dirt or debris to enter the carburettor.
7.0
Move the choke lever to the closed position to help reduce the risk of dirt or debris
entering the carburettor.
7.1
Undo the air filter housing nut and remove the air filter cover.
7.2
Remove the sponge plate from the top of the air filter to reveal the foam air filter
element.
7.3
Remove the foam element and wash in a warm soap solution.
If the air filter shows any signs or wear or damage, it must be replaced before using
the machine.
7.4
Allow the air filter to air dry and then soak in fresh engine oil.
Remove any excess engine oil from the filter before reinstalling.
DO NOT
twist the air filter element as this may damage it.
7.5
Ensure the inside of the air filter cover is clean and free of dirt and debris.
7.6
Reinstall the air filter, sponge plate and air filter cover.
