INSTALLATION
•
The luminaire may only be installed by a professional electrician in accordance with local legislation.
•
Both luminaire and ballast box shall be installed in such a place and environment for which they have
been designed according to the rating label and properties.
•
Always connect the luminaires when there is no incoming voltage.
•
The maximum distance between the luminaire and the control module is 25 metres. The maximum
capacitance of the lighting load is 2,000 pF.
•
The ballast boxes are available for groups of 1, 2, 3 or 4 luminaires. Please note that all the ballasts in the
ballast box must be in use.
•
Do not install or incline the luminaire in such a way that dust can gather on the front glass causing fire
hazard.
•
Changing construction of the luminaire and making any changes to cabling is prohibited.
•
I-Valo luminaires are always delivered equipped with a preinstalled installation rail or mounting holes
drilled into the frame. Do not make any other holes of your own in the frame.
•
The luminaire can also be installed with a separately ordered steplessly adjustable alignment bar 6066.
•
Do not change or modify the luminaire or ballast box construction!
•
A lighting group must be equipped with a residual-current circuit breaker.
USAGE & MAINTENANCE
•
When a bulb expires, the power must be switched off and the bulb replaced with a new one. A non-
functioning luminaire part must not be kept connected to the network.
•
The luminaire may only be used in an environment for which it has been designed according to its rating
label.
•
Before performing maintenance, voltage must be disconnected from the luminaire. It takes several
minutes for the luminaire components to cool down.
•
Before opening the luminaire or ballast box, remove any existing dust layers.
•
The luminaire may not be used without its cover glass. In case the front glass gets broken, disconnect
the luminaire immediately from the power supply. Do not use the luminaire, before replacing the glass
cover.
•
The conditions of the installation rail, bracket and sealing surfaces should be checked regularly.
•
In case the luminaire or ballast box get damaged in a way that affects the enclosure given in the rating
label (IP rating), repair or replace the luminaire or ballast box immediately! A damaged luminaire must
not be used; voltage must be disconnected from it and it must be repaired.
•
Before closing the luminaire or ballast box, clean the sealing surfaces carefully with a neutral washing
agent in order to maintain their tightness.
•
An unstable electrical grid may damage the components of the luminaires.
•
Temperature and the quality of the supply voltage affect the service life of the control gear. The
estimated failure rate is 0.2% per each 1,000 operating hours at the luminaire’s maximum allowed
