The EP82-58 Electric Planer is a power tool used to take off small 
amounts wood by shaving it off in increments. 

It shaves and 

shapes wood like a hand plane, a belt sander and a jointer all rolled 
into one. 



The blade of the planer is mounted in the middle of two metal 
plates (often referred to as the ‘shoe’).  



The front shoe can be adjusted 

(moves up & down)

 via a Depth 

Adjustment Knob, located near the front of the planer up to a 
maximum depth cut of 2 mm. 

 
Applications 

of the planer includes:  



Doors, to take off a little bit from the edge of the door.  



Straightening out Frames; 



Cutting Rabbets - Rabbets can come in handy and are typically 
used in making doors, cabinets and some furniture. Using the 
guide available with the planer is the best way to go and will give 
you a much better (and straighter) end result. 



Chamfering Edges – to chamfer edges but, not as accurate as 
some other tools.
