Caring for Your Printer
Your printer requires very little care, but the following suggestions
are helpful to prevent damage and to keep it clean.
Be sure that you use the correct IBM ribbon cartridge (IBM part
1040580 or IBM part 1040440).
Do not place liquid containers near the printer.
Keep the access cover closed except when replacing the ribbon
or changing the forms.
Do not let objects (rubber bands, paper clips, and so on) drop
into the printer.
Do not block the air vents on the printer sides. Obstructions
could restrict airflow and cause the printer to overheat.
Clean or vacuum the printer as necessary to remove dust or lint
from the forms feed path. Be sure that the power switch is
turned Off (O).
Use a cloth dampened with mild soap and warm water to clean
the printer exterior.
