Protocol
This section describes the protocol for sending and receiving messages at the
physical and data link levels.
The RS-232 scanner uses the standard full-duplex interface used on standard data
terminal equipments (DTE).
The interface uses the following six signals:
For input to a scanner:
– Receive data (RXD)
– Clear to send (CTS)
– Data set ready (DSR)
For output from a scanner:
– Transmit data (TXD)
– Data terminal ready (DTR)
– Request to send (RTS)
