Your
server
installation
may
be
subject
to
government
regulations,
such
as
those
prescribed
by
OSHA
or
European
Community
Directives,
that
cover
noise-level
exposure
in
the
workplace.
The
BladeCenter
unit
is
available
with
an
optional
acoustic
attenuation
module
that
can
reduce
the
likelihood
of
exceeding
noise-level
exposure
limits.
The
actual
sound-pressure
levels
in
your
installation
depends
on
a
variety
of
factors,
including
the
number
of
servers
in
the
installation,
the
size,
materials,
and
configuration
of
the
room
where
the
servers
are
installed,
the
noise
levels
from
other
equipment,
the
room
ambient
temperature,
and
employees’
location
in
relation
to
the
equipment.
It
is
recommended
that
a
qualified
person,
such
as
an
industrial
hygienist,
be
consulted
to
determine
whether
the
sound-pressure
levels
to
which
employees
may
be
exposed
exceed
regulatory
limits.
Rack
considerations
IBM
NetBAY
When
planning
for
IBM
NetBAY
racks
the
following
factors
must
be
considered:

that
provides
adequate
access
to
the
front
and
rear
of
the
rack,
and
space
on
both
sides
of
the
rack
or
a
row
of
racks
for
ventilation
and
walk
through
space.
