Figure 4-34 on page 124 is an example of a configuration with two direct-attached host
servers with non-redundant connections to a DS3500 storage subsystem. This sample
configuration does not have either redundant host connections or redundant controllers.
Note: Although the example shown in Figure 4-34 on page 124 is a valid supported
configuration, it does not have redundant host-side connections. Best practise is to always
use redundant host-side connections.
Note: Because there are four Fibre Channel host ports on the DS3500 (when the optional
Fibre Channel host interface card is installed) a maximum of two direct attached hosts with
redundant paths can be connected to a single controller DS3500 storage subsystem.
