3. Enter the IPv4 or IPv6 address of the iSNS server or select Obtain configuration
automatically from DHCP server.
4. Click Advanced to define a custom port (if needed) that is used to communicate with the
iSNS server. The default port is 3205.
5. Select Disallow un-named discovery sessions if you want your storage subsystem only
to respond to requests addressed specifically to this target; it will not respond to global
requests.
6. Click OK to save the configuration modifications and return to the iSCSI management
window.
13.4 Configure iSCSI Host Ports
The iSCSI host ports are the 1Gb Ethernet ports on each DS3500 controller with iSCSI
daughter card, that are used to connect hosts to this storage subsystem by iSCSI protocol.
Each controller has four RJ45 ports available on the iSCSI daughter card (see 4.1.4, “DS3500
controller with optional iSCSI host port adapter” on page 91).
The Configure iSCSI Host Ports task (see Figure 13-8 on page 326) is activated by selection
Storage Subsystem
iSCSI
Configure Host Ports in pull down menu of DS Storage
Manager. This task can be activated also from the Setup tab, and from the Physical tab, if any
controller is selected. It is used to configure the network settings of the four iSCSI host ports
on each controller. IPv4 or IPv6 addresses can be used along with native VLANs. Careful
network planning must be done before the setup can be performed.
You need the following information before starting this configuration task. Your organization
probably has networking standards that determine this information:
Use of IPv4, IPv6, or both
