8. After the update completes, a summary is displayed (Figure 14-89). If you want to update
more drives, click Transfer More to select the compatible packages; otherwise, click
Close to exit the drive update window.

14.6 View Event Log
You use this link to view a list of events that have occurred on your DS3500 storage
subsystem. The event log is stored on reserved areas on the disk drives in the storage
subsystem. It records configuration events and the failure of storage subsystem components.
These events are assigned either Informational or Critical priority. The default view is to
display the last 100 events of all types, but you can change the view to show only critical
events, or up to 8191 events of all types. All critical events are sent to the SNMP management
console or to the e-mail recipient that you have configured to receive the alert notifications as
described in section
“Configure Alerts” on page 168.
The initial Event Log view is shown in Figure 14-90 on page 396.
Note: The DS3500 Event Log can also be viewed from the Advanced
Troubleshooting
View Event Log menu.
