IBM System Storage DS3500: Introduction and Implementation Guide
The DS Storage Manager software allows you to manage persistent reservations from the
Subsystem Management window. The Persistent Reservation option enables you to
perform the following tasks:
View registration and reservation information for all volumes in the storage array
Save detailed information about volume reservations and registrations
Clear all registrations and reservations for a single volume or for all volumes in the storage
array
Perform the following steps to view the Persistent Reservations:
1. Select Advanced
Maintenance
Persistent Reservations to open the Persistent
Reservations window as shown in Figure 14-115.

2. To view the registrations that are associated with the logical drive reservation, either
double-click the desired logical drive, or highlight the logical drive and select the View
Associated Registrations check box in the upper left of the dialog. You may view only
one registration for a logical drive at a time.
3. Use the Refresh option to update the reservation and registration view.
4. Use the Save As option to save all reservation and registration information as a text file.
All reservation and registration information for each logical drive is saved, no matter how
many logical drives you have highlighted in the upper pane.
5. Use the Clear option to perform these functions:
– Release logical drive reservations and remove associated registrations when the host
port is no longer part of the configuration.
– Clear old data that is associated with a logical drive that no longer has a reservation.
You can clear persistent reservations using this procedure:
a. In the upper-left corner of the Persistent Reservations dialog, make sure that the View
Associated Registrations check box is deselected.
Note: You can also manage persistent reservations through the script engine and the
command line interface.
