Figure 20-15 iSCSI network subnets
Use udev by-id specification in /etc/fstab file. A detailed procedure is shown before in
20.1.1, “Preparing for the installation” on page 604
Install the RDAC multipath driver before mapping the logical drive(s) to the server. The
complete procedure is in 20.1.2, “Installing the RDAC Multipath Driver” on page 610.
20.2.2 Configuring iSCSI software initiator with YaST
iSCSI initiator (also called client) can be used to connect to any iSCSI target. The
configuration of iSCSI initiator includes the discovery of available iSCSI targets and the setup
of an iSCSI session. Both can be done with YaST.
1. Configure each ethernet adapter in the blade server to access each iSCSI host port on the
DS3500. In our case we have two ethernet adapters installed on the server and this are
configured to 192.168.130.0 and 192.168.131.0 subnets. Verify that all the iSCSI host
ports are accessible by using ping command from the server.
2. Now it is necessary to configure the iscsi initiator which is also called client. On a Linux
terminal type yast iscsi-client. A windows for installing the necessary packages will appear
as shown in Figure 20-16 on page 619. Press Enter to select Install. You need to have the
SLES CD-ROM installation media or an online software repository previously configured.
