When working from the Hardware Management Console Workplace panel
1. Open Task List from the Views area
2. Open CPC Recovery Tasks from the Task List Work Area
3. Open Groups from the Views area
4. Open Defined CPC's from the Groups Work Area
5. All the CPC's in your system will display in the workarea.
6. Select one CPC that you want to establish CPC console connection to.
7. Drag and drop the selected object on Single Object Operations in the CPC Recovery Task
area.
The Single Object Operations Confirmation panel displays.
8. Select Yes.
The Support Element Workplace panel displays.
You now have a CPC console connection. The Hardware Management Console acts as the
Support Element for the selected CPC. All the keyboard and display functions of the
Support Element can now be performed using the Hardware Management Console.
When working from or remotely connected to a Support Element
1. From the Views open Task List
2. Select CPC Configuration
3. Open Groups from the Views area.
4. Select CPC from the Groups Work Area
5. Drag and drop CPC on Hardware Configuration Details in the CPC Configuration area.
A window appears with a system ICON for the CPC
6. Press F1 on the keyboard for HELP on the different ways to locate CHPIDs.
7. When all CHPIDs have been plugged select EXIT from the SYSTEM ICON view.
8. Select Log off from the Console Actions Work Area.
9. You are ask if you wish to turn off Service Mode, answer NO.
