The
information
contained

this
section
was
previously
identified
as
the
PCI
SCSI
Disk
Array
Manager
task.
This
service
aid
calls
the
smitty
pdam
fastpath,
and
is
used
to
manage
a
RAID
array
connected
to
a
SCSI
RAID
adapter.
It
may
also
be
run
from
standalone
diagnostics,
which
is
available
on
systems
or
partitions
with
operating
systems
other
than
AIX
installed
on
them.
(Systems
or
partitions
with
operating
systems
other
than
AIX
do
not
allow
you
to
run
the
smitty
pdam
command.)
Some
of
the
tasks
performed
tasks
using
this
service
aid
include:
v
Check
device
status
for
the
disk
array
on
your
system
v
Display
information
of
physical
drives
and
disk
arrays
v
Run
recovery
options
on
the
RAID
(which
needs
to
be
performed
at
the
end
of
a
service
call
in
which
you
replaced
the
RAID
adapter
cache
card
or
changed
the
RAID
configuration)
Other
RAID
functions
are
available
using
this
service
aid,
but
they
should
only
be
use
by
the
system
administrator
who
is
familiar
with
the
RAID
configuration.
These
functions
are
normally
performed
when
booting
AIX,
using
smitty
pdam
command
line.
Without
knowledge
of
how
the
RAID
was
set
up,
these
functions
can
cause
loss
of
data
stored
on
the
RAID.

Manager
This
service
aid
calls
the
smitty
pxdam
fastpath,
and
is
used
to
manage
a
RAID
array

PCI-X
SCSI
RAID
adapter.
It
may
also
be
run

the
diagnostics
run-time
options.

Analysis
The
Run
Error
Log
Analysis
task
invokes
the
