Before You Begin
Before You Begin
Become familiar with the safety and handling guidelines
specified under “Safety Information” on page vii, “Electrical
Safety” on page 124, and “Handling Static-Sensitive Devices” on
page 125. These guidelines will help you work safely while
working with your server and options.
Make sure you have an adequate number of properly grounded
electrical outlets for your server, monitor, and any other options
you intend to install.
Place your server in a location that is dry. Rain or spilled
liquids might damage your server.
Leave about 51 mm (2 in.) of space around the front and rear of
the server to allow the server cooling system to work properly.
Have a supply of 1 MB and 2 MB, 3.5-inch diskettes available.
Back up all important data before you make changes to disk
drives.
Have a small flat-blade screwdriver available.
Be sure to leave space around the server to allow the server cooling
system to work properly. Acceptable clearance is about 51 mm (2
in.) of space around the front and rear of the server.
