Installing Internal Drives
Internal Drive Bays (Hot-Swap Servers)
The PC Server 330 comes in two hot-swap versions:
Hot-Swap Server without RAID
Hot-Swap Server with RAID
Both of the hot-swap servers contain hardware that lets you replace
a failed hard disk drive without turning off the server. This gives
you the advantage of continuing to operate your system while a
hard disk drive is removed or installed. These drives are also
known as hot-swappable drives.
In these server models, you can install up to six hot-swappable
drives. Hot-swappable drives have a green LED near the
locking-lever on the tray containing the drive. If the drive has a
good electrical connection upon installation, the LED illuminates.
The LED blinks briefly during power-up. For hot-swap models, the
LED also blinks if the drive malfunctions.
