Installing Internal Drives
IBM PC ServeRAID Adapter
With the hot-swap servers with RAID, the IBM PC ServeRAID
Adapter provides three internal connectors for 16-bit cables, and one
external connector: Internal Channel 1, Internal Channel 2, Internal
Channel 3, and External Channel 1.
Notes:
1. To keep External Channel 1 available for use on the RAID
adapter, use Internal Channel 2 and Internal Channel 3 for
connecting internal SCSI devices.
2. Internal Channel 3 comes cabled to the backplane.
3. Intenral Channel 1 and External Channel 1 cannot be used at the
same time. For example, if you attach an external storage
device to External Channel 1, then you cannot attach any
internal devices to Internal Channel 1.
