User can enter either password to complete the system
startup.
Administrator password provides access to the
Reference Diskette and to all choices on the
Configuration/Setup menu. Administrator
password menu can enable the power-on
password user to change the power-on password.
Power-on password provides access to a limited
set of choices on the Configuration/Setup menu,
and provides no access to the Reference Diskette.
Note: You do not need to enter a password when you start the system using the IBM
ServeRAID Adapter Configuration Diskette.
Setting an Administrator Password
The administrator password (sometimes called the supervisor
password) allows you to control who has access to some features of
the server, including the Configuration/Setup utility program. If an
administrator password is set, you must enter it to display the
complete menu for the Configuration/Setup utility program.
Otherwise, a limited version of the Configuration/Setup utility
program menu appears.
Notes:
1. To control access to the server, the administrator and
power-on passwords should be different. The system
displays a warning message if you attempt to set the
