Installing Internal Drives
1. Choose the bay in which you want to install the drive. (See
Table 1 on page 217 for the drive types and sizes available for
each bay in your server.
2. Touch the static-protective bag containing the drive to any
unpainted metal surface on the server; then remove the drive
from the bag.

3. Check the instructions that come with the drive, or contact your
IBM reseller or IBM marketing representative to see if you need
to set any switches or jumpers on the drive, or if you need to
attach a tray to the drive.
Notes:
The SCSI ID on the CD-ROM is preset to 6.
Automatic SCSI ID settings apply only to
hot-swappable hard disk drives installed in banks C,
D, and E. Therefore, if you install a SCSI drive in
bay B of disk-array models, you must set a SCSI ID
for that drive.
