Removing Internal Drives
5. Disconnect the drive from the connector on the backplane, by
grasping the handle on the drive tray and pulling the drive out
of the server. Store the drive in a safe place.
Note: If your server is a disk-array model, you must
reconfigure your disk arrays after removing hard disk
drives. See “Starting the ServeRAID Configuration
Program” on page 80 for details.
6. What to do next?
If you are removing another internal drive, return to step 1
on page 265.
If you are installing another internal drive in bank C, D, or
E, slide the drive vertically into the target bay until it
connects to the backplane, and move the knob on the drive
tray to the locked position. If you need details about
installing an internal drive, go to step 1 on page 224.
If you are not installing or removing another internal drive,
continue with the next step.
