Removing the Side Covers
Before you begin:
Be sure you have:
Read “Electrical Safety” on page 63 and “Handling
Static-Sensitive Devices” on page 65 (or your safety booklet).
Turned off peripheral devices (see “Preparing to Install
Options” on page 66).
You must remove both side covers before you can remove the top
cover.
To remove either of the server side covers, do the following steps:
1. Unlock and remove any padlock

on the side cover.
2. Remove the three screws

from the back edge of the side
cover. Save the screws to reuse when you reinstall the cover.
