In the Manage Serviceable Events window, specify the event criteria, error criteria, and FRU criteria. If
you do not want the results to be filtered, select ALL.

Click OK. The Manage Serviceable Events - Serviceable Event Overview window displays all of the
events that match your criteria. The information that is displayed in the compact table view includes
the following details:

Problem number
v
PMH number
v
Reference code - click the Reference code to display a description of the problem reported and
actions that can be taken to fix the problem.
v
Status of the problem
v
Last reported time of the problem
v
Failing MTMS of the problem
Note:
The full table view includes more detailed information, including reporting MTMS, first
reported time, and serviceable event text.
4.
Select a serviceable event and use the Selected drop-down menu to select Repair.
5.
Follow the instructions to repair the part.
Note:
The HMC might open IBM Knowledge Center instructions for repairing the part. If so, follow
those instructions to repair the part.
Power cords
Use these procedures to disconnect and connect the power cords on IBM Power Systems servers that
contain the POWER8 processor.
Disconnecting the power cords from the system
Use this procedure to disconnect the power cords from the system.
To disconnect the power cords from the system, complete the following steps:
1.
Open the rear rack door on the system unit that you are servicing.
2.
Identify the system unit that you are servicing in the rack.
3.
Disconnect the power cords (B) from the system unit. See Figure 120 on page 144, Figure 121 on page
144, or Figure 122 on page 145 or depending on the type of your system.
Notes:

This system might be equipped with two or more power supplies. If the removing and replacing
procedures require the power to be off, then ensure that all the power sources to the system have
been completely disconnected.
v
The power cord is fastened to the system using the hook-and-loop fastener (A). If you are placing
the system in a service position after disconnecting the power cords, then ensure that you unstrap
the fastener.
Figure 117 on page 143 shows the supported alternate current (AC) and high voltage direct current
(HVDC) connectors.Figure 118 on page 143 and Figure 119 on page 143 show the supported
connectors and power distribution unit (PDU) for 8408-44E.
