an
equivalent
type
battery
recommended
by
the
manufacturer.
If
your
system
has
a
module
containing
a
lithium
battery,
replace
it
only
with
the
same
module
type
made
by
the
same
manufacturer.
The
battery
contains
lithium
and
can
explode
if
not
properly
used,
handled,
or
disposed
of.

immerse
into
water

Heat
to
more
than
100°C
(212°F)

Repair
or
disassemble
Dispose
of
the
battery
as
required
by
local
ordinances
or
regulations.

the

steps

replace
the
battery:
1.
Read
the
safety
information
beginning
on
page
vii
and
“Installation
guidelines”
on
page
19.
2.
Follow
any
special
handling
and
installation
instructions
that
come
with
the
battery.
3.
If
the
blade
server
is
operating,
shut
down
the
operating
system
by
typing
the
shutdown
-h
now
command
or
by
choosing
shut
down
from
the
GUI.
If
the
blade
server
was
not
powered
off,
press
the
power
control
button
(behind
the
blade
server
control
panel
door)
to
turn
off
the
blade
server.

4.
Remove
the
blade
server
from
the
BladeCenter
unit
(see
“Removing
the
blade
server
from
the

Carefully
place
the
blade
server
on
a
flat,
static-protective
surface.
6.
Open
the
blade
server
cover
(see
“Opening
and
removing
the
blade
server
cover”
on
page
22
for
instructions).
7.
Locate
the
battery
(connector
BH1)
on
the
system
board.
