Retrieving
from
an
AS/400
System
with
RISC
Processor
IBM
device
drivers
for
the
AS/400
system
logs
error
information
when
an
error
occurs
on
a
tape
drive
or
library.
The
error
information
includes
the
following:
1.
Device
VPD
2.
SCSI
command
parameters
3.
SCSI
sense
data
(if
available)
To
gain
access
to
the
AS/400
problem
logs
and
error
logs,
sign
on
at
any
available
workstation
using
the
QSRV
logon
and
its
security
password
(QSRV).
After
signing
on,
the
proper
access
authorizations
will
be
granted
and
the
AS/400
MAIN
MENU
displays.
1.
Type
STRSST
(Start
System
Service
Tools)
command
on
the
command
entry
line
on
the
AS/400
Main
Menu,
and
press
[Enter]
.
2.
On
the
“System
Service
Tool
(SST)”
screen,
select
Start
a
service
tool
,
and
press
[Enter]
.
3.
On
the
“Start
a
Service
Tool”
screen,
select
Product
activity
log
,
and
press
[Enter]
.
4.
On
the
“Product
activity
log”
screen,
select
Analyze
log
,
and
press
[Enter]
.
5.
On
the
“Select
Subsystem
Data”
screen,
select
Magnetic
media
,
enter
the
From
and
To
time
period
for
searching
the
error
log,
and
press
[Enter]
.
6.
On
the
“Select
Analysis
Report
Options”
screen,
select
the
following,
and
press
[Enter]
