Rack release latches:
Press the latches on each front side of the server to slide it
our of the rack.
v
Hard disk drive or solid state drive activity LEDs:
These LEDs are used on SAS
or SATA hard disk drives and solid state drives. Each hot-swap drive has an
activity LED, and when this LED is flashing, it indicates that the drive is in use.
v
Hard disk drive or solid state drive status LEDs:
These LEDs are used on SAS
or SATA hard disk drives or solid state drive. When these LEDs are lit, it
indicates that the drive has failed. If an optional IBM ServeRAID controller is
installed in the server, when this LED is flashing slowly (one flash per second),
it indicates that the drive is being rebuilt. When the LED is flashing rapidly
(three flashes per second), it indicates that the controller is identifying the drive.
v
CD/DVD eject button (Optional):
Press this button to release a DVD or CD
from the CD/DVD drive.
v
CD/DVD drive activity LED (Optional):
When this LED is lit, it indicates that
the CD/DVD drive is in use.
v
Scalability LED:
When this (white) LED is lit, this indicates that the server is
connected to another server or MAX5 to form multi-node configurations.
v
Operator information panel:
This panel contains controls and LEDs that provide
information about the status of the server.
v
Operator information panel release latch:
Push the blue release latch to the left
to pull out the light path diagnostics panel and view the light path diagnostics
LEDs and buttons. See “Light path diagnostics” on page 67 for more information
about the light path diagnostics.
v
Video connector:
Connect a monitor to this connector. The video connectors on
the front and rear of the server can be used simultaneously.
