This configuration consists of three 8x1.8-inch drive backplanes and requires six
SAS signal cables. You can also install the optional simple-swap 2.5-inch SATA
drive kit in this configuration.
Removing a simple-swap SATA drive
To remove a simple-swap SATA drive, complete the following steps:
1.
Read the safety information and installation guidelines, see “Safety” on page vii
and “Installation guidelines” on page 261.
2.
Turn off the server (see “Turning off the server” on page 17) and all attached
peripheral devices. Disconnect all power cords; then, disconnect all external
cables as necessary to replace the device.
3.
Remove the 4x2.5-inch filler panel.
4.
Grasp the black drive handle and press down on the blue release latch and
slide the drive out of the drive bay.
