If the grease is properly applied, approximately half of the grease will
remain in the syringe.

Install the heat sink onto the microprocessor as described in “Replacing a
microprocessor and heat sink” on page 351.
Removing the top cover/power cut-off switch assembly
To remove the top-cover/power cut-off switch, complete the following steps:
1.
Read the safety information and installation guidelines, see “Safety” on page vii
and “Installation guidelines” on page 261.
2.
Turn off the server (see “Turning off the server” on page 17) and all attached
peripheral devices. Disconnect all power cords; then, disconnect all external
cables as necessary to replace the device.
3.
Remove the server cover (see “Removing the server top cover” on page 264).
4.
Remove the fan cage assembly (see “Removing the fan cage assembly” on page
331.
5.
Disconnect the cable from the system board and remove the cable from the
loops on the side of the drive cage next to the operator information panel.
6.
Remove the screws (that holds assembly to the chassis) from the side of the
chassis.
7.
Grasp the assembly and lift it out of the server.

If you are instructed to return the top cover/power cut-off switch assembly,
follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping
that are supplied to you.
