The IBM ThinkPad 770X is designed to
recognize up to 320MB of addressable
memory with the new Mobile Pentium II
processor at 300MHz. 64MB or 128MB
of new, fast SDRAM SO DIMM system
memory (RAM) is standard, depending
on model. Current available memory
options allow memory expansion up to
320MB using two 128MB SDRAM SO
DIMMs in the two user accessible slots
for memory expansion. On models with
the 13.7-inch display, one of these slots
is currently occupied with a 64MB
SDRAM that provides the standard
128MB of system memory. This 64MB
SDRAM would have to be removed and
replaced with a 128MB SDRAM to
achieve the 320MB maximum.

These 56K V.90 modems are designed
to be capable of receiving data at up to
56Kbps from a compatible service
provider, and transmitting data at up to
31.2Kbps. Public networks currently
limit maximum download speeds to
about 53Kbps. Actual speeds depend
on many factors and are often less than
the maximum possible.

For ThinkPad 600 or 600E, to achieve
288MB memory configuration on
models with 64MB standard, you need
to replace one 32MB SDRAM SO DIMM
in the memory slot with 128MB SDRAM
SO DIMM and add a second 128MB
SDRAM SO DIMM.

Multiple monitor support gives you the
ability to expand your ThinkPad desk-
top area by attaching an external
monitor or second display, allowing you
to view two different applications
running simultaneously. External device
must support the same maximum
resolution and refresh rate as that of the
built-in notebook display. Available
video memory may limit resolution and/
or color depth. Individual application
support for this feature will vary.

Software-supported MPEG-2 playback
is supported on ThinkPad 770X and
770Z models with Windows 98.
Software-supported MPEG-2 playback
and support for video capture on
Windows NT models requires the
optional ‘DVD and Enhanced Video
Adapter’.
