Installing the PC Card Modem
Your computer can be connected
only to a public telephone line
(analog line). Do not use a
digital telephone line. Use of a
phone line other than an analog
can damage your modem.
Danger:
To avoid shock hazard, do not connect the cable to or
disconnect the cable from the telephone outlet on the wall
during electrical storms.
To install the PC Card modem, do as follows:

Insert the PC Card modem in a PC Card slot.
To configure the proper modem device driver, follow the
instructions on the screen. You might need to install the
modem device driver from a manufacturer's diskette. See the
documentation provided with the PC Card modem.

Click on Start, and move the cursor to Settings and
Control Panel.

Click on Control Panel; then double-click on Modem.
The “Location Information” window appears:

Fill in the necessary information; then click on the OK
button.
