replicated and the replicated data is restored, the replication directory can be
deleted. See “Deleting a replication directory” on page 114.
Enabling FSI replication policies
This task describes how to activate replication policies for FSI.
About this task
When a replication policy is created, it is activated by default. However, if a
destination repository becomes unavailable for an extended period of time and the
policy has been deactivated, the policy may have to be enabled. Enabling a policy
requires that an empty replication target directory be created (or modified) for each
of the reactivated policy destinations.
Procedure
Follow the steps to activate an FSI replication policy:
1.
From the Systems Management view, select Replication Policies from the
navigation pane.
2.
From the Replication Policies list, select a deactivated policy (marked with a
red X in the Enabled column) to enable.
3.
Choose Replication > Replication Policy > Enable replication policy. The
Enable policy
window is displayed.
4.
Click on the deactivated destination(s) and click Modify. The Replication
Destination window is displayed.
5.
Select a remote destination repository from the remote file system, or create a
new remote destination directory.
6.
Click Modify. The destination repository is displayed with the updated path.
7.
Click Ok. The replication policy is enabled.
Creating a replication directory
This topic describes how to create a replication destination directory in an FSI
environment.
About this task
A replication directory is a specific directory on the destination repository to which
all subdirectories and files selected in a replication policy on a source repository
are replicated. During policy creation, a single replication directory must be
defined per policy on the destination repository. The replication directory can be
created ahead of time, or it can be created during the policy creation procedure. A
replication directory cannot be a subdirectory of any other directory, and any
shares created to a replication directory have "read-only" user permissions. Data on
the replication destination directory can be used for recovery and restore scenarios.
Procedure
Follow these steps to create a replication directory on a destination repository:
1.
From the Systems Management view, select an existing file system under the
File System
category in the navigation pane.
2.
Choose Replication > Replication Directory > Create a replication directory.
The Create replication destination directory window is displayed.
