Folders navigation

Go on to “Creating replication policies for FSI” on page 106
Deleting a replication directory
This topic describes how to delete a replication directory in an FSI environment.
About this task
Before you can delete a replication directory, you must first delete any replication
policies associated with the directory and take ownership of the directory. Once the
replication policies are removed, it is the owner’s responsibility to delete the
replication directory when it becomes necessary. In addition, all existing files on
the replication directory are deleted. For more information, see “Deleting FSI
replication policies” on page 110.
Procedure
1.
Delete or disable any policy that uses the directory as a destination. See
“Deleting FSI replication policies” on page 110 and “Disabling FSI replication
policies” on page 112.
2.
Take ownership of the directory. See “Taking ownership of a replication
destination directory” on page 120.
3.
Create a share or export. See “Working with NFS exports” on page 91
4.
Mount the directory. See “Mounting an NFS file system on a host” on page 95
5.
Use the appropriate command for your operating system to delete all files and
subdirectories from the replication directory.
6.
From the Systems Management view, select an existing file system under the
File System
category in the navigation pane.
7.
Choose Replication > Replication Directory > Delete a replication directory.
Alternatively, you can right-click on a Replication directory in the Folders
navigation tab view and select Delete Directory from the popup menu. The
Delete Directory
window opens.
8.
If you chose Delete a replication directory from the Replication menu, either
type the folder name, or click Browse to choose the name of the replication
directory you want to delete.
9.
Click Delete. If you try to delete a replication directory that is defined as part
of a replication policy, a message is displayed that if you continue, all
incoming replication to that replication directory will be blocked. Click yes to
delete the replication directory.
Note:
Alternatively, if the Replication directory is defined as part of a
replication policy, you can first modify or delete the policy on the source
repository to remove all association to the replication directory. For more
information, see “Modifying FSI replication policies” on page 108 or “Deleting
FSI replication policies” on page 110.
10.
Type
data loss
in the Confirm data loss window and click Ok. All of the
files on the Replication directory are deleted and cannot be restored.
