Connecting
the
cables
This
section
provides
basic
information
about
attaching
peripheral
devices,
such
as
a
keyboard
and
pointing
device,
to
the
server.
Cable
identifiers
are
printed
on
the
cables
that
come
with
the
server
and
optional
devices.
Use
these
identifiers
to
connect
the
cables
to
the
correct
connectors,
such
as
the
identifiers
in
the
following
examples:
v
The
signal
cable
identifier
for
the
CD
or
DVD
in
the
CD
or
DVD
drive
is
“ODD”,
for
optical
disk
drive
.
v
The
signal

identifier
for
the

v
The

It
might
be
easier
for
you
to
route
cables
before
you
connect
the
devices
to
the
server.
For
detailed
information
about
external
devices
and
how
to
connect
them
to
the
server,
see
the
documentation
that
comes
with
these
devices.
For
the
location
of
external
ports
and
connectors
on
the
server,
see
“Server
components”
on
page
14.
There
are
release
levers
on
the
Ethernet
connectors.
To
disconnect
a
cable
from
one
of
these
