Electrostimulation only by microgalvanic (GMES - positive and negative
polarity)
Figure 7.
Electrostimulation isolated by GMES. Ultrasonic spatula (back of the
spatula), connecting cable with banana pin end for the alligator clip adapter, aluminum
plate electrode, moistened with water to close the electric field (dispersive). In this
case , the ultrasound intensity should be zero. The current intensity should be adjusted
according to the therapeutic purposes.
Care and contraindications to the use of the currents
The precautions and contraindications to the MENS or GMES currents are not
different from any other forms of electrostimulation current. Some precautions must be
taken::
Do not apply on undiagnosed pains: it can motivate a more vigorous physical
activity before a lesion is recovered or disguises a serious illness.
Implanted Electronic Device: a patient with an implanted electronic device (
for example , a pacemaker) should not be submitted to stimulation, unless an
expert medical opinion has been obtained previously.
Hearing devices: hearing devices should be removed during the session. If
submitted to electrical stimulation, the devices can suffer damages or present
irregularities of operation.
