AP Security Configuration: No Security
The AP can be configured to have no security setting. While
not recommended
, IT
administrators can choose to set the security configuration as
None
, effectively turning
off all security features of the AP. In this configuration, users can associate to the access
point without the use of security requirements.
Static WEP Security Configuration
If WEP is your required security method, choose the security configuration as static
WEP. Once WEP is selected, the user can choose Transfer Key Index, Key Length and
Type, and even Authentication method (Open System or Shared Key) during the
configuration process. The example below demonstrates the WEP setting with a Static
WEP setting. The WEP Keys should be provided to the client in order to pass the
authentication or the decryption packet.
