RECOVERY/EVACUATION
1.
Set the 'ICE/OFF/WASH' switch in the 'OFF' position.
2.
Install manifold gauge set, charging scale, and
recovery unit or two-stage vacuum pump.
3.
Open low side valve on manifold gauge
set.
4.
Perform recovery or evacuation:
A.
Recovery: Operate the recovery unit as directed
by the manufacturer’s instructions.
B.
Evacuation prior to recharging: Pull the system
down to 500 microns. Then, allow the pump to
run for an additional half hour. Turn off the pump
and perform a standing vacuum leak check.
NOTE: Check for leaks using a halide or electronic leak
detector after charging the ice machine.
CHARGING PROCEDURES
Important
The charge is critical on all Icetro ice machines. Use
a scale to ensure the proper charge is installed.
1. Verify the 'ICE/OFF/WASH' switch is in the 'OFF'
position.
2. Close the vacuum pump valve.
3. Open the refrigerant cylinder and break the vacuum
with 1-2 oz. of refrigerant through the suction access
valve.
4. Place the toggle switch in the 'ICE' position.
5. Weigh in the remainder of the refrigerant charge, per
the data plate specifications.
NOTE: Manifold gauge set must be removed properly to
ensure that no refrigerant contamination or loss occurs.
