Handling the Drum
All ICG drums are precision made to the highest
optical standards. You should treat the drum with
great care, paying particular attention to the following
points:
•
Handle it with care to avoid chipping or
scratching the perspex surface.
•
Avoid touching the perspex surface whenever
possible. Always hold the drum by the boss at
the bottom and the rim at the top.
•
Keep it clean. Use a proprietary anti-static drum
cleaner applied with a
Selvyt
cloth or
Repro
wipes to remove stains, finger prints and dust.
•
Before using the Quick
Mount
(or Slick
Mount
)
drum, remove wristwatches, rings and bracelets.
•
When using the Quick
Mount
drum, regularly
check that the lining tape on the vertical contact
edges of each cassette is undamaged.
•
Before inserting the Quick
Mount
drum cassette,
wipe its vertical contact edges with a Selvyt or
other lint free cloth.
•
Always use a proprietary drum mounting tape
for mounting originals on the external drum.
Provided you follow these rules there is no reason
why the drum will not last indefinitely.
