Precautions When
Using the
QuickMount Drum
The inside surface of the Quick
Mount
drum has a
special ‘anti-scratch’ coating to protect it from damage
and reduce static. The coating is extremely hard but
it can be damaged if mistreated.
To avoid the possibility of damage:
•
Remove wristwatches, rings and bracelets
before using the drum.
These can damage the drum surfaces.
•
When using the cassettes, regularly check
that the lining tape on the vertical contact
edges of each cassette is undamaged.
If necessary, replace the tape as described later
in this chapter.
•
Before inserting a cassette, wipe its
vertical contact edges with a Selvyt or
other lint free cloth.
Mounting Originals
Using the Flexible
insert
Most transparencies, colour negatives and smaller
reflection copy originals can be mounted in the
Quick
Mount
drum using the flexible insert. To do
this:
1. Carefully clean the original on both sides.
Use a Selvyt cloth or repro wipes moistened with
an anti-static film cleaner.
Caution: Do not use drum cleaner to clean the
original.
2. Carefully clean the inside and outside of the
drum.
Use a Selvyt cloth or repro wipes with an anti-
static drum cleaner.
