The oil will spread over the entire surface of the
original. Some surplus oil may come out at the
sides of the overlay film; this should be carefully
wiped away with a clean tissue moistened with
the recommended cleaner.
12. Seal the two remaining sides of the
overlay film with tape to prevent any
further oil from leaking out when the drum
is spinning:
13. Check for:
a. Newton's rings by looking at the back of
the original through the drum.
b. Air bubbles, dirt and hairs by using a
magnifying glass.
If air bubbles are present, using your thumb,
carefully squeeze them to the edge.
Mounting Reflection
Copy
Reflection copy originals should always be mounted
using a clear film overlay. This keeps the full area of
the original free from tape, protects the original from
possible tape damage and ensures that it lies as flat
as possible and in good contact with the drum.
