Using the Intercom
The Intercom function enables you to communicate between the deck and the cabin. The
optional HM-195
commandmic
IV
™
is required for Intercom operation.

Connect the HM-195 as described on page 85.
NOTE: While using the Intercom function,
•Transmit is disabled.
•The received call audio is muted.
•Operation is disabled on devices other than the two that are using the Intercom function.
1. Open the “INTERCOM” screen.
[MENU] >
Intercom
2. Select a unit, and then push [ENT] or [DIAL].
•Enters the Intercom mode.

“ALL” is displayed only when 3 command
microphones are connected to the transceiver.

The controller being operated has “(Own)”
appended to its name.
3. Hold down
to sound the intercom beeps.
•The command microphone sounds beeps while
holding down
.
• “CALL” is displayed.
4. After releasing
, hold down [PTT] and
speak into the microphone at your normal
voice level.
• “ TALK” is displayed.

To adjust the command microphone’s
intercom volume level, rotate [VOL] on the
command microphone.
5. After releasing [PTT], you can hear the
response through the speaker.
6. Push [CLEAR] to return to the previous screen.
NOTE:
While in the Intercom mode, the transmit and receive functions are
disabled. When the transceiver is transmitting, the Intercom function is disabled.
