Backlight
You can adjust the backlight level.
Display Contrast
You can adjust the display contrast of the
command microphone’s display in 8 steps.
Key Beep
You can select whether or not to sound a
beep when a key is pushed.
ON:
Sounds a beep when a key is pushed.
OFF: No beep sounds, for silent operation.
Key Assignment

Softkeys (1~20)
You can change which Software Key
functions to display, and their order. You
can assign up to 20 Software Keys at a
time.

The usable Software Key functions and
their order may differ, depending on the
transceiver version or presetting.
L
Some Software Keys may not be
usable, depending on other settings.

Dial
You can assign the audio volume
(Volume), squelch (SQL), channel
selection (Channel), and the backlight
level (Backlight) to any one of 4
sequential positions on the Dial.
UTC Offset
Set the offset time between Universal Time
Coordinated (UTC) and your local time to
between –14:00 and +14:00 (in 1 minute steps).
Inactivity Timer
The transceiver automatically returns to the
operating screen if you push no key for the
set period of time for each mode.

Not DSC Related
Setting for when a screen that is not
related to DSC is displayed.

DSC Related
Setting for when a screen that is related
to DSC is displayed.
z
Distress Related
Setting for when a screen that is related
to a Distress call is displayed.

RT Related
Setting for when the transceiver is in the
Radio Telephone mode.
GPS
Selects a satellite to be used for GPS
(Global Positioning System) to pinpoint
the geographic location of your transceiver
anywhere in the world.
This setting may not be usable, depending
on the transceiver version or presetting.

GPS
The GPS is permanently set to ON.
z
GLONASS
Selects whether or not to use the data
from the GLONASS (GLObal’naya
NAvigatsionnaya Sputnikovaya Sistema)
satellites.
z
SBAS
Turns the SBAS (Satellite Based
Augmentation System) ON or OFF.
When turning ON this function, the GPS
position accuracy can be improved.
