Network MIDI set-up
The iConnectMIDI
4+’
s Network MIDI feature is like having an
additional 1 x 1 MIDI interface on each of up to four computers on
your network. You can connect a single computer directly to the
Network port with a standard Cat5 ethernet cable, or you can cable
the iConnectMIDI
4+
to a wired switcher or (wireless) Wi-Fi router for
access to the other three computers.
(The ethernet switcher must have its own power supply.)
There are up to four Network MIDI sessions, each with one bank of
16 MIDI channels. Each session is dedicated to one computer device.
Mac set-up
Open the Audio MIDI Setup program (found inside Applications ->
Utilities).
In the MIDI Window, double-click the Network icon to open the MIDI
Network Setup Window:
A list of the four ethernet sessions and any additional computers in
your network appears in the MIDI Network Setup window (“additional”
means other than the host Mac computer). In this case we have a
Windows computer called Studiogiga1:
