or
displays not connected to a NAV6 Receiver V2 or NAV6 eNAVTEX Receiver.
Note: If you have a NAV6 Receiver V2 or NAV6 eNAVTEX Receiver and your display software is Version 1.50 or higher you
can upgrade the display software and NAVTEX database via the USB connector on the receiver. USB upgrade is not covered
in this document.
What you will need:
A PC, laptop or tablet running Windows 7,8 or 10.
A NAV6 Programming Cable.
NAV6 Display Programming Cable
Older Version NAV6 Programming Cable
A Serial to USB convertor
(Required if your computer does not have a serial
port).
A valid product Upgrade Code from your upgrade
voucher.
Please note: Updating an older version NAV6 display is a technical task. Please read these instructions
carefully. If you are unsure about any of the procedure, we would recommend you seek assistance from a
professional Marine Electronics Engineer or contact support at ICS for more information.
Also note, the station database will be updated after the upgrade and any messages that were stored will be
erased.
Upgrade Procedure:
1.
Contact ICS by telephone or email and request an upgrade for your display. You will need to include
details of the Upgrade Code from your voucher, the serial number of your NAV6/NAV6Plus Display,
your contact details and your email address.
2.
By return you will receive a NAV6 software upgrade email.
3.
The email will contain instructions, attachments and/or links as appropriate with instructions on how
to proceed.
4.
Ensure the power to your NAV6 system is turned off.
