The encrypted MP3 files are created from standard MP3 files (identical quality and audio encoding process)
and have the same extension name (.mp3). For more information about encrypted files supported with the
player, please refer to Characteristics (page 63).
The encryption is performed with a licensed software that is attributed to a unique legal owner. This license
are exclusively accorded by our company after a user request. The grating of a new license is at the
discretion of the ID-AL / Waves System company. To obtain a MP3 encryption software with an exclusive
license, please contact ID-AL / Waves System company.
9.10. Updating the Firmware
. Introduction
This chapter explains how to perform the update of the internal firmware of the player whatever is the
previously installed version of your player. Read this chapter entirely before performing your update. The
firmware update adds new features, improves existing functions within the build-in firmware. To have the best
experience with the ID-AL player, it is strongly recommended to update the firmware.
. Select a way of procedure
The procedure to update the firmware depends on two parameters:
1. The firmware version of the player.
2. The settings must be keep or be reset.
Depending on the answers, it can be necessary to install a “Bootloader” software before the installation of
the new firmware and the selection of the right extension name of the firmware file.

. Determinating the Current Firmware Version
In order to perform the firmware update it is necessary to know the firmware version that is installed into the
player. The firmware version can be known with the following procedure:

On the front panel user interface: please refer to Information Displays (page 67).

On the web server: please refer to Home Page (page 73).
. Performing the Firmware Update
Before achieving to the firmware update, please select the appropriate procedure tanks to the careful reading
of the previous paragraphs of this chapter.
