8. Log on to the FTP server of the player. The FTP client software displays a list of folders that shows
the storage devices plugged to the player. Each folder name is composed of the name of the
connector used and a mount point of the storage device on this connector (e.g.

Description

Manage the content of the Main Media over a local network with the use of a Samba client.
Embedded Samba Server
Requirements

A computer with a Samba client file manager.
•
A LAN (Local Area Network) access from the player and the computer.
Recommended usage
•
This method is recommended when the update is done remotely over a local Ethernet network,
player by player.
•
Pros:

Easy to use.
◦
Recommended for off-site handling.
◦
Recommended for a content management directly done by the end user.
◦
Recommended whit the use of a built-in connector for the Main Media (My Music Player only).
◦
Recommended for the management of one or more players on the same local network.

Cons:

Limited to a local area network (LAN) use.
◦
The Scheduler function cannot be used to execute the content updating that depends on a
remote operation.
◦
No recommended for a large number of players.
◦
For technical reasons, the use of the SATA are not supported properly with the FTP functions
(My Music Player HW V1.0 only)

The management of a large number of players can require higher level of skill for the Samba
clients tools used (batch, scheduling, content synchronization).
